Git for Google Apps Script™ Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Git for Google Apps Script™ ("the Extension"). By using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Extension.

1. License & Usage

1.1 License Grant

The Extension is provided free of charge. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Extension subject to these Terms. You do not acquire any ownership rights to the Extension or its underlying code.

1.2 Personal & Commercial Use

Both personal and commercial use are permitted. You may use the Extension for client work, professional projects, and business purposes.

1.3 Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Reverse Engineer: Decompile, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works based on the Extension.
  • Circumvent Protections: Bypass, disable, or interfere with any security measures or usage restrictions.
  • Misrepresent Ownership: Claim ownership of or authorship over the Extension or any part thereof.

2. Third-Party Services

2.1 Google Account

The Extension requires authentication with your Google account to access the Apps Script API. Your use of Google services is subject to Google's Terms of Service.

2.2 GitHub

The Extension requires a GitHub Personal Access Token to interact with your repositories. Your use of GitHub is subject to GitHub's Terms of Service. You are responsible for managing your token's permissions and security.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

3.1 "As Is" Provision

The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

3.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy or Compatibility

We do not warrant that:

  • The Extension will function correctly with every Apps Script project or GitHub repository configuration.
  • File synchronization will be accurate, complete, or free from errors.
  • The Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs.
  • Any errors or defects will be corrected.

3.3 No Liability for Damages

You acknowledge that use of the Extension is at your own risk. We are not responsible for any damages, data loss, system issues, or other harm that may result from using the Extension.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Extension.
  • We shall not be liable for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
  • We shall not be liable for any loss or corruption of code, files, or project data resulting from synchronization errors.

5. Termination

5.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it.

5.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to discontinue the Extension or restrict access if you violate any provision of these Terms.

5.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Extension and uninstall it from all devices. Sections 3, 4, and 6 of these Terms shall survive termination.

6. Governing Law & Disputes

6.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

6.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Extension shall be resolved as follows:

  • Informal Resolution: We encourage you to contact us first at violetsmyster@gmail.com to attempt to resolve any dispute informally.
  • Jurisdiction: If informal resolution fails, any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in the United Kingdom.

7. General Provisions

7.1 Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

7.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

7.3 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Extension and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
